Not many people are given the chance to place their painted handprint on a brand-new vehicle. But for three young people who are either fighting cancer or are in remission in Kingston, that’s exactly what they did Friday afternoon.

After getting their hands painted with the colour of their choice, the three each were offered the chance to place their unique print anywhere on the white Hyundai vehicle parked in front of Kingston General Hospital.

It was all a part of a new fundraising initiative called Hyundai Hope on Wheels, a program that was started by dealers in the United States in 1998 and has since become one of the largest pediatric research charities and foundations south of the border.
