TOWN OF PARIS, Wis. — A 65-year-old man who was trapped in a grain bin in the town of Paris on Friday morning has been rescued.

According to the Paris Fire and Rescue chief, crews were able to rescue the man using rope systems and a special tubing system, which was placed around him so they could vacuum out the beans surrounding him.
The chief said this helped reduce the pressure on his chest and allowed rescuers to secure him with a harness. He was then lifted out of the bin using a ladder truck and taken to the hospital, where he is expected to recover.
Officials stressed that if someone becomes trapped in a grain bin, bystanders should never attempt a rescue themselves, as it could cause more grain to collapse, and
