A week after its move into a temporary location, Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter's future is still uncertain.
“I don't think anyone has a clear grasp of how long we will be located at Lionheart,” said YVAS Community Engagement Coordinator Izzy Zalenski. “The welfare of animals is our highest priority. We can only thank Lionheart Cannabis for providing us space to continue our services and resources to help people and their pets throughout Yellowstone County.”
The shelter partnered last week with Lionheart Cannabis in Billings, setting up in the dispensary's warehouse space. The move followed the evacuation of their previous building, due to a mishap during the burning of methamphetamine by the FBI which shut down the animal shelter in September.
