Rapper and hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been sentenced to 50 months in prison on Friday for prostitution-related charges after avoiding a decades-long stint behind bars.

Combs was sentenced to four years and two months in prison over the hip-hop mogul's July 2 conviction, with the sentence handed down by US District Judge Arun Subramanian at a hearing in Manhattan federal court.

Combs, 55, had faced up to 20 years behind bars.

He was convicted on two counts of arranging for paid male escorts to travel across state lines to take part in drug-fueled sexual performances - sometimes known as "Freak Offs" - with Combs' girlfriends while he recorded video and masturbated.
