RODANTHE, N.C. (WITN) - Another beachfront home on the Outer Banks has fallen into the Atlantic Ocean, making it the first in Rodanthe to collapse in 2025 after a whopping seven homes fell last year.

The National Park Service says the latest home to collapse was just before 6 p.m. today on Kohler Court, Rodanthe. It was unoccupied.

Last year, seven homes in Rodanthe were lost.

Clean-up crews were dispatched to Buxton today for eight homes lost to high surf beginning this September.

Twenty-one beach homes have been lost in the Buxton and Rodanthe areas in the past five years.
