RODANTHE, N.C. (WNCN) — A ninth unoccupied oceanfront house has collapsed along Cape Hatteras National Seashore in North Carolina's Outer Banks this week.
According to the National Park Service, which runs the seashore, a house located at 23047 GA Kohler Court in Rodanthe collapsed shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.
Though the house was the ninth total in the area to fall in four days, it was the first in Rodanthe. On Tuesday, six houses in Buxton collapsed — five between 2 and 2:45 p.m., and one around 11 p.m. One house in that same part of Buxton fell Wednesday and another Thursday.
Friday's house collapse was the first in Rodanthe since last year. A total of six homes fell along Cape Hatteras National Seashore in 2024 — all in Rodanthe — including three in the 23000 block of GA Kohler Cou
