ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –The Route 66 Centennial is just months away, and the City of Albuquerque is looking to invest more than a million dollars for special projects along the road.
Route 66 spans more than 18 miles through Albuquerque, making it the longest urban stretch in the country. City officials say they have a new list of projects that would add lighting and banners to the famous route.
The city is proposing a resolution that would fund eight different projects, like sculptures and signage, celebrating the iconic highway.
