OMAHA, Neb. —
Girls Inc. broke ground on a new facility.
The expanded Emma Lozier Center will enhance services for south Omaha girls.
It's located next to South High School.
The updated 36,000-square-foot center will be nearly five times larger than the current south Omaha center, and it will accommodate 300 girls.
"This new center will be a place where girls like me and so many others can learn and grow and discover our strengths," said Sofia Villa.
Currently, there is a campaign to raise the final $2.7 million of the $35 million project goal.
