LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Finding purpose through the passion of being a police officer.

That’s what happened for Damon Pulver, a former Wilson Talent Center student and current Lansing police officer.

“We need people to be passionate in this career field, and programs like this help people build that passion,” said Pulver.

That program is the Lansing Police Department’s Explorer Program, which gives students hands-on experiences into what the job entails.

“Whether or not they want to go into law enforcement, I think the skills you gain in the class will definitely benefit you for life,” said Brandon Bartotti, an explorer in the LPD Explorer’s Program.
