GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks Central started the second half with a one-score lead against Wahpeton Friday night at Cushman Field.
The Knights had jumped to a 21-0 advantage, but the Huskies found some life in the second quarter.
Cayden Bart scored on a 96-yard kick return and quarterback Treyton King connected with wide receiver Brayden Steffens for a 15-yard touchdown as time expired.
Naz Fisher took head coach Jake Schauer’s halftime message to heart: Enter the second half like it’s 0-0.
“Just because we were 5-0 does not mean we can slack off, take bad reps,” Fisher said. “We had to flip a switch. Offensively, we did, and defensively we did.”
The senior running back went on to score three straight rushing touchdowns for the Knights.
