Montgomery Academy lost a heartbreaker Friday, Sept. 26 in the expiring minutes to Class 2A Luverne, 48-45 for the Eagles first loss of the season. A lot around Region 2-3A were wondering how Montgomery Academy would respond and Friday, Oct. 3, they got their answer.

Montgomery Academy (6-1, 4-0) put any doubts outside of the team, and inside of the team to bed in Friday night's 38-12 win over region rival Trinity Presbyterian (5-2, 3-1). The final score doesn't do justice for how far the gap is between Montgomery Academy and Trinity Presbyterian. The Eagles are now in control of their destiny as far as region play concerns itself, being the only unblemished team in region standings.
