CLEVELAND, Ohio — Massillon defeated St. Louis Cardinal Ritter, 28-14, at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in a nonconference game Friday night.

Massillon’s Savior Owens scored three touchdowns and his special teams fumble recovery led to another score as the Tigers bounced back from last week’s 34-2 home loss to Canada’s Football North, a week after Massillon had upset top ranked St. Edward.

Owens scored his third touchdown of the game to give Massillon a 28-14 lead with 11:27 remaining in the game. The defense held Ritter scoreless in the second half.

The Tigers’ offense found the end zone just 73 seconds into the game. Quarterback Mandwel Patterson shifted to the slot and Owens took a direct snap 55 yards for the score.
