OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio — Trailing Avon Lake 21-10 early in the third quarter in the midst of a two-game losing streak, Olmsted Falls saw its season slipping away with major Div. II Region 6 computer points on the line Friday.
When the Bulldogs could have easily folded after a big score by the Shoremen, instead, Olmsted Falls head coach Tom DeLuca found out what his team was made of in a gritty 25-21 comeback win over Avon Lake on homecoming.
“We knew going into it that this was like a playoff game,” DeLuca said. “That’s a really, really good football team. I mean really good. Their first half of their season was brutal, kinda similar to ours. They came in here, they had an intent to give us everything they had, and they did.
