TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- It has been quite the two-week stretch for the Lansingburgh football team.
On the heels of defeating Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk for the first time since 2012, Lansingburgh turned around and handed Cohoes a 44-0 defeat Friday night in the Hudson River Rivalry game.
The Knights excelled in all three phases of the game, but special teams had the biggest impact early on. Junior Elijah Flowers recovered a muffed Cohoes punt return just over two minutes into the opening quarter, setting the Lansingburgh offense up at the Tigers' 40-yard line. On the very next play from scrimmage, Anari Fredericks took an inside handoff to the house to put the first six points of the night up on the scoreboard.
Cohoes' next series resulted in a punt, and Lansingburgh's Salah Thompson return
