SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- After a tense standoff, Springfield Police have a suspect in custody in connection to a bank robbery Friday morning. The amount of money he stole remains undisclosed.

The suspect allegedly came into O'Bannon Bank located on East Sunshine, demanded money, then left the scene. No injuries were reported.

Police were able to track him to 1101 East Loren Street. Officers established a perimeter, blocking off access to the street with police vehicles. The special response team was at the scene this afternoon, carrying rifles and wearing body armor.

Police were on the loudspeaker trying to get the suspect, who was hiding in a home, to come out. As police forcefully broke the door to the house, a man was seen walking out with his hands up and taken into custody.
