ST. CHARLES, MI – As the sun began to warm what had been a crisp, cool fall morning in Saginaw County, organizers from ReLeaf Michigan dug into their next mission .
Over 30 students huddled around a 300-pound tree early Thursday morning, Oct. 2, to learn and help plant trees around the St. Charles Community Middle and High School.
“Our hope is that we come out, we talk about the benefits of trees, we show them how to properly plant a tree, and then maybe in the future, on their own property or when they’re a decision maker, they would have a more positive feeing about a tree or be willing to plant and maintain a tree,” said ReLeaf Michigan Lead Project Forester Jenni Shockling.
