WASHINTON COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Washington County Historical Society will recognize two community members during its annual meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Bailey Center at Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville.
Former Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan and health care advocate Lou Reed Sharp will receive the 2025 Washington County Distinguished Citizen awards, according to a news release. Additional details about their contributions are provided in the photo captions below. • "Jordan served as mayor from 2009 to 2025 and as a city council member from 2001 to 2009. During his time in office Jordan supported projects such as the historic preservation of the Woolsey Prairie property and rehabilitation of the John Porter Price produce warehouse and the Washington County Historica
