FORT SMTIH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Almost a year after opening applications for a new in-house attorney position, Fort Smith Public Schools has not made a hiring decision and has no set timetable, Talk Business reports.

As of Oct. 14, 2024, six candidates had applied for the FSPS in-house attorney position: Casey Copeland, Joshua Bugeja, Michael Rabey, Timothy Baker, Taylor Dugan, and Greneda Johnson. According to Talk Business & Politics, the district now reports a total of 10 applicants.

The posting, which opened in July 2024, lists a minimum starting salary of $100,000.

Initial interviews are complete, but no selection has been made, Talk Business reports. FSPS communications specialist Addie Reith said, “There is no current timetable for filling the position.”
