IRONDALE, Ala. (TRIBUNE) — The City of Irondale honored the late former Mayor Dan Praytor on Thursday with the unveiling of a commemorative road sign dedicating Montevallo Road in his name.
City officials, residents and members of Praytor’s family gathered for the ceremony, which recognized his contributions to the community and his role in shaping Irondale’s growth.
Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr. said Praytor’s leadership continues to benefit the city years after his service in office. “We are now harvesting from the seeds sown by Mayor Praytor,” Stewart said.
Praytor’s widow, former First Lady Sharon Praytor, attended the dedication alongside family members. City leaders said their presence underscored the personal impact of Praytor’s time in office and his legacy of community service.
