CENTRAL CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Authorities said two people were injured after a crash in Central City Saturday afternoon.

First responders were called to an accident at Highway 13 and Barber Street around 11:08 am.

Upon arrival, officers found a gray Chrysler Pacifica with significant front-end damage and a red Chevy Equinox with significant rear-end damage.

After investigation, officers said the red Equinox was stopped at the traffic construction light when the gray Pacifica failed to stop and struck the Equinox from behind.

The driver of the Pacifica, 82-year-old Donna Kinley and a passenger of the Equinox, 46-year-old Ellen Clar, were taken to a local hospital for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
