BRISCOE COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) - The Texas A&M Forest Service and the Tulia Fire Department are responding to grass fires in Swisher and Briscoe County just west of Silverton.
According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, the fires have burned a total of approximately 3,000 acres and is 0% contained.
Officials say the fires started in Swisher County have since burned into Briscoe County.
The Forest Service says one of the two fires is currently south of Highway 207 and crews are holding the fire and preventing it from jumping over the roadway.
Officials say the second fire is burning in tall grass and rough terrain, making it difficult for crews to reach and work to control.
