The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office on Saturday identified the man who was beaten to death by a suspect wielding a bat during a road rage incident on Chicago's South Side.
Luis Acalderon, 26, of Chicago, died from multiple injuries sustained in the incident on Friday afternoon, the medical examiner's office stated. An autopsy was expected to take place at an unspecified date.
Police said Acalderon was struck with a bat in the 5400 block of South Wells Street near West Garfield Boulevard in Fuller Park. According to authorities, an unknown male suspect produced a bat and struck the 26-year-old multiple times before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored SUV.
Acalderon was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
