ANN ARBOR — The end of the Michigan-Wisconsin game on Saturday was more intriguing than the final score would suggest.

After Wisconsin’s field goal cut Michigan’s lead to 24-10 with 2:43 left, the Badgers’ onside kick was unsuccessful. Wisconsin had all three timeouts left but did not use any the rest of the game. Michigan, meanwhile, continued to try to score a touchdown, coming up just short before the game ended.

Michigan, ranked 20th nationally, improved to 4-1 (2-0 Big Ten). Wisconsin fell to 2-3 (0-2).

The first play after the onside kick, a 4-yard Michigan run, ended with 2:36 left. The clock did not stop until the 2:00 timeout.
