Dangerous swimming conditions are being forecast for a big stretch of Lake Michigan’s most popular beaches on Sunday. Waves are expected to build up to 6 feet high by Sunday afternoon along beaches from Holland and stretching north of Traverse City, the National Weather Service said.
Normally, this would not be a safety issue in October. But several places tied or broke their high temperature records across the state today and more summer-like hot weather with highs in the 80s is expected tomorrow. So beaches will likely be busy.
