BEMIDJI – In all the years of the Bemidji State football team’s homecoming tradition of jumping into Lake Bemidji after a win, this year might’ve felt the most satisfying.
No, it wasn’t just because of the 80-degree weather Saturday afternoon – it was because, at long last, the Beavers notched their first win of the season against Northern State, 24-21 in exciting fashion at Chet Anderson Stadium.
“You couldn't ask for a better scenario jumping in the lake,” head coach Brent Bolte said. “It washed the frustration away from the group, I think. Really happy for the guys, everybody else and the fans.”
