Greens leader Larissa Waters has avoided stating a position on the Robbins Island wind farm, a renewables project opposed by two of her parliamentary colleagues.

Senator Waters told the ABC's Insiders she was not familiar enough with the high-profile project to state a position but that renewables projects should not unduly threaten biodiversity.
