JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) -The Jackson Fire Department hosted an emergency services open house for the community on Saturday.
The open house was to help show community members what goes into being a firefighter in the city of Jackson daily.
During the event, firefighters took part in real-life extraction scenarios and other real-life events.
“We also have some out-of-county fire departments that are in attendance and participate in as far as extrication,” said Alex Watson, who’s with the Jackson Fire Department. “Smoke trailer for kids to go through so that’ll be fun for them, it’s got smoke detectors and things like that.”
The Fire Department hopes that this open house will turn out to be an annual event.
