Chennai: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in 12 districts of Tamil Nadu today, October 5, 2025, attributing the weather pattern to an atmospheric low-level circulation prevailing over the region. The alert specifically highlights Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Tirupattur, Namakkal, and Ramanathapuram districts for particularly intense downpours.

“Heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Tirupattur, Namakkal, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Theni, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts,” IMD weather bulletin read.
