BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - THE NEXT 24 HOURS: The sky remains mostly cloudy across Alabama tonight and this is associated with a disturbance over the Gulf. This system will bring more clouds on Sunday, with a chance for scattered showers and storms by the afternoon and evening, beginning in the far south. I’m not expecting widespread rain and the activity should remain scattered. However, the greatest coverage will be southwest, which is where we are seeing the most extreme drought conditions. Otherwise, plenty of dry weather in the mix for Sunday, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
THE NEXT BIG THING: The chance for a few scattered showers will linger into Monday morning, with some additional isolated pop-ups late Monday and Tuesday. Still, not a drought ending rain, but a mor
