GLOBE, AZ (AZFamily) — On Saturday, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs visited Globe after a late September storm caused major flooding, leading to three deaths and lots of damage.

The day after the storm, an incident management team with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management took over search and rescue operations as well as debris removal.

In that time, 66 vehicles have been recovered, 800 propane tanks that were swept away from a local propane business have been retrieved, 288 tons of waste and debris have been cleared, and nearly 8,000 cubic yards of dirt and sediment have been taken to a local landfill.

“There’s still a whole bunch of cleanup to do, and this is their livelihood and so they need the assistance sooner rather than later,” said Hobbs.
