A penny for our thoughts? Gwyneth Paltrow’s loafers are so “in” for fall.

On September 27, the Goop founder got all dressed up for her birthday festivities in Portofino, Italy. She looked ready to celebrate in a classy pussy-bow blouse (which Kate Middleton also just wore), a sumptuous zip-up sweater, and some cropped wide-leg pants.

And because a pair of heels would be totally impractical for the cobblestone streets, she completed the look with some preppy penny loafers — which are a “true classic making a comeback,” according to stylist Cynthia Kennedy . Plus, they “instantly make jeans or trousers look more polished without sacrificing comfort,” she previously told PEOPLE .
