Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar held a press conference in Patna on Sunday about Bihar elections. He said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar was fully successful. The SIR started on 24 June 2025 and finished on time. Thanks to the voters, the process was smooth. Now, SIR will be implemented across India.

Booth Level Officers praised

Gyanesh Kumar said 90,217 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) worked very well. Bihar’s performance has become a model for BLOs across the country. ID cards for BLOs have also been introduced to help voters recognise them easily.

New voting facilities

Voters can now take mobile phones to polling booths.

Polling agents can sit 100 metres away from the booth centre.

EVMs will display candidates’ colour photos.
