ANDERSON, S.C. —

Anderson City Fire responded to an explosion inside a church building on Sunday morning.

According to St. Mary of the Angels Catholic churchgoers, someone attempted to light a stove in a building on the property, when it exploded sometime Sunday morning. We're told one person was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The Anderson City Fire Department is investigating.

Our crew on the scene tells us parishioners still attended church this morning. The church building itself appears to be unharmed.
