Anderson City Fire responded to a stove explosion inside a building at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church on Sunday morning.
According to the fire department, two people were transported to AnMed Health Medical Center for minor burns after a gas explosion. Officials said one of the victims may need to be transported to the Augusta burn center.
Investigators said the explosion blew the door off the stove and caused minor damage to a kitchen. The cause of the explosion was determined to be accidental.
According to churchgoers, someone attempted to light a stove in a building on the property,
