VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) - A two-year-old boy in Valdosta has died after being attacked by dogs at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday, according to a Sunday press release from Valdosta police .

The incident occurred at 3800 Pecan Drive in Valdosta. “When first responders arrived at the house, they found that the child was deceased,” the press release said.

Further investigation revealed that the boy was staying at the residence of 48-year-old Stacy Wheeler Cobb, per VPD. Valdosta police said Cobb was operating an unlicensed daycare and the boy’s mother had taken him to Cobb’s residence earlier that Saturday.

The child was reportedly not being supervised for over two hours as Cobb told police that she was taking a nap and “thought the child was as well.”
