WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Dr. Oye Owolewa, Washington D.C.'s shadow representative and Council candidate, said he is stepping up his security Sunday after his house was vandalized in what he believes to be an act of political violence.

According to the office of Owolewa, the Democratic representative returned home from the Anacostia Coordinating Council Annual Boat Cruise on Saturday afternoon to find "F U" spray-painted on his porch.
