An SUV driver blew through a red light and plowed into an elderly woman crossing a Brooklyn street — then left her to die and sped away, cops said Sunday.
Judith Byron, 75, had the walk signal as she entered the crosswalk at Seventh Avenue on 41st street in Sunset Park at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, when a silver SUV went through the light and rammed into her, according to authorities. 3
Byron was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center, but died later that evening.
Her heartbroken daughter, Tomasina Byron, told The Post said she wished she could have been by her mother’s side in her final moments.
“I have no hatred towards the person,” Byron told The Post in a phone interview, saying she was due to fly home from Puerto Rico to see her Sunday.
