NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - Over the last 24-hours, the Gulf coast area has seen a diminished chance for tropical development, but the same cannot be said about in the central Atlantic.

Starting out with our neck of the woods in the Gulf where the National Hurricane Center says that "a weak trough of low pressure located over the north-central Gulf is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms near the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama."

The NHC forecasts that it will start moving inland over the Gulf coast with no expectation of it developing due to the "strong upper-level winds and land interaction."

Formation chances here are 0% for both the next 48-hours and 7-days.
