HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Light winds are expected Monday through the latter half of the week as a broad surface trough and upper disturbance block the trade winds.

Daytime sea breezes will lead to afternoon clouds and pop-up leeward and interior showers, while nighttime land breezes will clear the skies.

The trough and disturbance are forecast to depart to the west late Friday, bringing a return of moderate trade winds for the weekend.

In surf, a brief high surf advisory has been posted until 6 p.m. Sunday for the north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai and the north shores of Maui.
