PORTLAND, Ore. — A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Southeast Portland early Sunday morning, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Officers from the East Precinct reposted just after 5:30 a.m. to a reported shooting on Southeast Foster Road near 58th Avenue. They arrived to find a man sitting in a car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and PPB said he had life-threatening injuries.

Any suspect in the case was gone by the time police arrived, and no arrests have been made.

Though the victim was still alive at the time of PPB's statement, the agency said that homicide detectives were called in due to the severity of the man's injuries. Southeast Foster Road was closed between Southeast 56th Avenue
