The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a deadly domestic shooting that occurred Saturday night in Douglasville.
According to preliminary information, police responded around 9:27pm to a 911 call about a domestic disturbance at a home on Littlebrook Way.
When officers arrived, they found an injured woman lying in the yard and a man standing nearby.
Police said the man, later identified as 51-year-old Volanta Lejuan Walker, had a handgun. Officers ordered him to drop the weapon, but investigators say Walker refused and pointed the gun toward them.
One officer then fired, striking Walker. They rendered first aid before paramedics took him to a nearby hospital.
The woman found on the ground was 56-year-old Sabrina Walker, the wife of Volanta Walker. Officials pronounced her
