Josh Allen patted the ball twice as four New England Patriots fought to sack the Buffalo Bills' quarterback.

None of Allen's receivers were open. He didn't want to check down for a short pass. The NFL's reigning MVP wanted a big play to put the Bills in position regain the lead Sunday night at Highmark Stadium. But as Allen released the ball, New England Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones stepped in front of Bills receiver Khalil Shakir to intercept the pass in the third quarter.

The Bills' third turnover of the AFC East matchup put more pressure on a defense that was depleted by injuries and struggling to contain their former teammate, Stefon Diggs. For the fourth time in five games, Buffalo needed the NFL's reigning MVP to make clutch throws and save the day.
