A police officer, Sergeant Chrispin Enock Msiska, is in custody at Mzuzu Police Station following allegations that he shot a businessman in Rumphi District.

Northern Region Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Maurice Chapola, confirmed the arrest.

“We have arrested Sergeant Msiska of Rumphi Police Station on suspicion that he shot a businessman in the district. We are currently investigating the matter to establish what led to his actions, which have criminal implications,” said Chapola.

Msiska remains in custody at Mzuzu Police Station as investigations continue.
