North Jersey residents are beginning the week with mild temperatures and clear skies, with conditions expected to warm up nicely as the day progresses, according to the National Weather Service.
As of 4:30 a.m., it was 66 degrees in Newark, a comfortable start for commuters heading to the bus stop or beginning their workday.
Skies were mostly clear, setting the stage for a bright and pleasant Monday.
Forecasters say today will be sunny, with temperatures climbing to a high near 85 degrees.
Winds will remain calm early before shifting southwest at 5 to 7 mph through the morning.
Tonight will stay mostly clear, with a low around 60 degrees.
