Outbreaks of vaccine‑preventable illnesses continue to persist across the country and here in North Carolina, due, in part, to declining vaccine rates for communicable diseases. When children and adults fall behind on their routine shots, it leaves entire communities vulnerable to the return of serious diseases. Amid ongoing changes to vaccine guidelines and rising hesitancy to immunizations, North Carolinians must prioritize getting caught up on critical vaccines.
