REDDING, Calif. - We're following up on a story we brought you yesterday about 'Measure A' , one of two things Redding voters will decide on the November 4th special election.
I spoke with Vice Mayor Mike Littau, who told me he's in support of the measure, that way the city can avoid employee cuts to both its fire and police departments.
It comes after councilmember Tenessa Audette told me yesterday that she doesn't support the increasing of the city's tax by one percent.
Littau tells me if Measure A isn't passed by voters next month, it could mean as many as a dozen firefighters and police officers being fired next year, in order to balance the budget.
Before the city passed its budget for fiscal year 2025-26, it was facing a $5M deficit.
