TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – State regulators will begin a two-week hearing on Monday that will determine whether Florida Power & Light can implement a series of rate increases affecting millions of customers across the state through 2029.
The utility giant is seeking approval for a $945 million base rate increase next year, followed by a $766 million increase in 2027, with additional hikes planned for 2028 and 2029.

Under the proposed settlement, FPL customers would see their monthly bills increase by approximately $2.50 beginning in January, with further increases each year through 2029.
