This post has been updated with new information.
North Carolina coach Bill Belichick is reportedly taking his New England Patriots beef to an embarrassing new level.
Per 247 Sports/CBS Sports' Ross Martin, Belichck's staff is reportedly directing North Carolina's social media accounts not to share anything Patriots-related on their feeds.
That means no Drake Maye posts by default, as the young Patriots quarterback is in the midst of a breakout season and an impressive Sunday Night Football win over the Buffalo Bills.
Normally, a school like North Carolina would be blasting Maye out as much as possible as an example of how their former players thrive at the next level. Since the Patriots are Belichick's persona non grata right now, we guess his resentments toward the NFL program outweigh the benefits of marketing Maye's successes? *Insert eye roll*
A quick scan of the UNC football and general athletics accounts on X (Twitter) and the UNC football account on Instagram support Martin's report... no Maye anywhere, even after he made his grand statement to the NFL in prime time.
We have a feeling an unflattering report like this might spark more Maye posting from the UNC accounts... that's if Belichick is amendable, of course.
UPDATE: Welp, after that unflattering report, UNC posted about Maye on X (Twitter).
