CONWAY, S.C. (WBTV) - A South Carolina restaurant won first place in one category at the Pizza World Cup in Italy this past week.

Anto’s Pizza Romana and Italian Market in Conway took its food to Rome for the competition. It was rewarded with a first-place result for its focassia, the restaurant posted on Sept. 30.

“To be able to go overseas and win our second ever competition is amazing and makes all the stress & long nights at the shop worth it,” Anto’s wrote on . “It’s even better to do it in front of friends & family. Thank yous all for the support. Conway we’re on the map.”

In the same Facebook post, the restaurant shared pictures of the first-place trophy, along with a “WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS” banner.

The award in Italy was not the first for Anto’s, as it the “Best Pizza” title
