MICHIGAN CITY — A driver escaped injury early Sunday after crossing the center line along Ind. 212 and crashing into trash bins and a NIPSCO pole, police said.
The driver was northbound around 9 a.m. Sunday when crossing the buy stretch of highway and crashing along the west side of the road north of Springland Avenue, according to Michigan City police.
The crash reportedly resulted in a temporary power outage in the immediate area.
The driver reported being sleep deprived and no enforcement action was taken, police said.
The vehicle had to be towed from the scene due to disabling damage from the crash, police said.
